Fort Meade is a small friendly town where you can easily meet folks at church, Lane's Barber Shop or sit with the Breakfast group at Kiki's Egg House.


Our Chamber of Commerce sponsors events throughout the year including Denim Boots and Pearls, a Civil War Reenactment, and Moonlight & Music.

Fort Meade is home to the Florida Flywheelers which has events November - February each year. You don't want to miss seeing their antique engines, pioneer village and the hayrides at Christmas when everything is decorated for the holidays. 


In Downtown Fort Meade, you can go back in time when you visit our local historical museum and train. The Historical Society has definitely captured the essence of the industry and heritage of our town.
 
With a lovely shaded sidewalk meandering around the lakes for exercise or just a stroll, Patterson Park is where the locals go. This 16+ acre park has three lakes, two floating fishing docks, comfort station and ample parking on site to be able to enjoy the gazebos and picnic tables around the park

Kiki's Egg House

A delicious way to start your day. Many of our residents enjoy the great atmosphere and comfort food served up every day of the week. Kiki's is open daily for Breakfast and Lunch with some of the best coffee anywhere! 

If you are in the mood for a burger and Coke, stop at John's Drive-In. With a wide selection of freshly made meals, you can find something that will delight your taste buds. John's serves Lunch and Dinner, seven days a week with daily specials and other mainstays such as fried green tomatoes, fresh grouper sandwiches and a salad bar.   

 
This bakery and coffee shop is a must when in Fort Meade. You will find display cases that have a variety of sweet treats ranging from cookies to bars. They specialize in custom cakes, and the cake decorating is over-the-top!

In Plant City, Keel & Curley Winery is a place to taste, watch and learn about how one of Florida's premium wines are produced. Enjoy a tour and relax in the tasting room. They also produce their own beer in a wide array of flavors and grains.

Just east of Fort Meade is the home of the Florida Flywheelers with their antique engines, tractors and all types of farm equipment. Live history through their pioneer village. Weekend shows November – February each year.

The Barn Antiques in Lake Alfred is a wonderful place to spend the day! Shop in their antiques showroom, home décor and seasons, backyard garden shop and eat in their delicious Back Porch Restaurant. Open October-May.

When you are in the mood for Italian, head down to Classic Pizza & Subs. You can order a meal to go or eat at their restaurant where you can enjoy the salad bar. Classic Pizza is open Monday - Friday for Lunch and Dinner. There are always other great Italian dishes such as lasagna and everyone's favorite spaghetti dinner!
